Purity |

This design adopts a blank canvas effect as the central theme for the interior space, employing pure white and delicate black outlines as the primary colors. Here, subtraction becomes the focus of expression.

White mineral paint is applied to the walls, appearing simply white from the front, but showing the craftsmanship’s traces under side lighting. This understated approach reveals the beauty of white. Thin black panels, either painted or titanium-coated, provide sharp edges for the wall and door, creating a tension between lines and surfaces.

The white extends to the floor with Italian-carved white stone, featuring rich gray veining, complemented by dark wood tones for personalized furniture connections. The ceiling, in gray-black tones, consists of plate-like color blocks, paired with linear steel lighting fixtures above the dining area, echoing the wall's tension.

Personality |

In residential design, I emphasize the qualities of the inhabitants, as the essence of home design lies in reflecting the homeowner's character. In this project, the owner's personalized participation is evident—from living requirements to furniture and equipment choices. Each element has undergone intensive discussions with the homeowners, ultimately taking shape and harmonizing with the space and environment.

Pure White Box|Private single-floor residence

I’ve known Hugo for almost 20 years. I kept telling my colleagues that I designed his home as if it were my own. That’s why three years flew by in this slow process of design, furniture collection, and construction.
Hugo, Candy, and I went to the same university. After they got married, they built admirable careers in the field of education and gave birth to two highly gifted kids.
Hugo has the qualities of a scholar and is constantly engaged in intense study and in-depth research. His wife Candy, on the other hand, has a profound understanding of art and life. No wonder they have produced countless outstanding students.
This design project is based on a fusion of the profound understanding and existential space concepts of our team. The goal lay in the realization of the original design recommendations. The pure white and spotless house looks unremarkable at first sight. However, numerous interesting details slowly emerge upon closer scrutiny. Countless unique features including the painted stone powder surface of the pure white building structure, the ultrathin sheet metal, small details inside cabinets, and the leather barrier strips that ensure soundless door closing gradually reveal themselves.
The design style for this project has been greatly inspired by Yukio Mishima’s famous novel “The Temple of the Golden Pavilion”. I firmly believe that this design concept which originated from a literary work instead of concrete images fully manifests the profoundness and purity of the home of this outstanding couple.
