Wall
Yearning for a sense of security, yet igniting a desire to peek beyond,
it creates a "between" that separates the inner from the outer.
The simple imagery seems to possess its own magnificent soul,
a reminder of memories that have lingered deep within since childhood.

The elongated site is located on the west side of Taichung City Hall. The entire reception center underwent four design proposals, ultimately materializing as three cubic volumes interconnected by a 5-degree inclined wall. This design employs four simple exterior materials—glass, stone, wood, and metal panels—creating a subtle interplay of heights that easily defines the interrelated functions of the reception area, service zone, and sample house.
In response to the straightforward geometric forms of the city hall, we believe that while purity may seem unexciting, it often fosters a certain "soulful" quality. This essence is what we strive to achieve in our work.
