SCENERY

FIRST
The dry wall and frame which are break out into the
ground are like vestiges of an ancient civilization and
they cooperate with the other modern materials.
Walking in a lofty defile, there are several opens
on the big wall leading to spaces which are like
Caverns In the end.
A huge fall flowing to the water, there is a pavilion
floating on the water beside the wall.

SECOND
Floating in the pool,
There is water flowing into the pool from the
sculpture like leaf.
The curve like leaves in the pool is the reflection
of the skylight,Which one of them is the only truth
in the world?

THIRD
High on the “LAPUTA”,1
It is prodigious to meet the old eastern forest.
On the contrary, there is a feeling of future on the
roof terrace of the tower. It is as if to discern the
legendary vestiges of an ancient civilization.

1. the name of a comic which is composing by宮崎駿,in this story,it’s a name of a legendary

Memory

"Have you ever felt an inexplicable yet deeply moving sense of emotion tied to a certain scene?
It could be the quiet, leaf-covered yard behind a small chapel, the delicate chime of wind bells under the eaves of an Eastern building, or the sight of smoke curling up from a small mountain cabin cloaked in early winter mist, bringing with it a sense of warmth.
These indescribable emotions and scenes, we believe, are actually connected to an awareness of 'existence' and the emotions it stirs within us."

The Sense of Presence in Architectural Space

In the reception center we designed three years prior to this project, we explored the idea of 'space' itself as the theme. The main structure was crafted in exposed concrete, incorporating unique horizontal shading to bring out the sense of transparency in the space. From that point onward, the design direction of this project has continued along this same path.

The Literary Character of Space

During my studies, I once asked a professor whether there could be such a thing as literary architecture. The professor replied, "First, you must understand what literature is." Confronted with this challenge, I continued my studies, reading extensively about the philosophy and literary qualities of space. Gradually, I began to form a concrete understanding of what the literary character of space could mean. In traditional Chinese gardens, poets and scholars blend poetic imagery with landscapes, living within both words and space, and this fusion embodies a literary quality.

Design Beyond Form

Beyond the form and function of the space, I’ve embedded pieces of my own cherished memories, elements beyond physical design, which infuse the space with a subtle, timeless essence.

An endless corridor like railway tracks (the lobby passageway)
Shimmering reflections on water (the ground floor surrounded by water)
Walls that seem to grow from the earth itself (the towering exposed concrete walls)
Gentle lights breaking through the dark night (a softly dimmed lighting approach)
Walking alone in the forest, hearing the rustling of leaves in the wind (the camphor forest outside the library and osmanthus trees on the rooftop)"
